I'm currently taking classes towards nursing at Greenville Technical College. I'm married, have six children and a menagerie of animals that I care for

This is my second year at Greenville Tech, and my first in Phi Theta Kappa. I am majoring in Nuclear Engineering and plan on attending a four- year college in the fall of 2014. This college is unbeknownst to me right now, as I am still researching the college that best fits my needs. Before Greenville Tech I was homeschooled. I have spent the last two years as a lifeguard at Table Rock State Park and I have also spent time tutoring students in math and science. This summer I am going to be a summer missionary/engineering intern in Myrtle Beach. The plan is that during the morning I will be working with engineers to create an Outreach building and then during the afternoon I will be aiding and ministering to the Myrtle Beach community.

My name is Ammara Khalid. I am an active member and lead researcher of the 2014 chapter of Alpha Zeta Sigma. I am completing my Associate in Science degree at Greenville Tech and plan to study Computer Information Systems, my intended major, at USC Upstate. I chose this path because I have a natural knack for working with data and research. It is my secret dream to become a ninja. I will achieve that dream the day I scare my brother. After that accomplishment, I will help Nicole fight for the freedom of Middle Earth. 

I was the 2013 VP of Communications of Alpha Zeta Sigma. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in musical theatre. I have also earned certification as a New York State and nationally certified EMT Basic, Java programmer, ESL teacher, and Mandarin Chinese (from Shanghai Jiaotong University). After teaching in China for six years, I'm currently earning my associate in science at Greenville Technical College. I hope to earn my PhD and become a medical research scientist (biochemistry, neuroscience).
